Drainpipes

Cast-iron drainpipes were the original fittings to most old houses and these metal fixtures suffer from rust and may need replacing. If you’re guttering and drainpipes have been painted, they are normally cast-iron. Plastic gutters are not usually painted. If you have old asbestos-cement gutters and drainpipes, you should replace them with plastic guttering.

Plastic gutters and drainpipes become damaged over time due to weather erosion, so regular checks are important. Replace plastic gutters, drainpipes as and when they become damaged.
